15 years ago today, the ever popular Illuminations 2000: Reflection of Earth premiered with it's soft opening at EPCOT.
Officially debuting October 1, Illuminations is a spectacular firework extravaganza that involves pyrotechnics, laser lights, and fountains creating a visual production on the park's World Showcase Lagoon. The show was part of the Walt Disney World Millennium Celebration, but would become so popular that eventually the "2000" was dropped from the title and would be known as Illuminations: Reflections of Earth.
The show still runs today and is always a highlight of the day.
