Another Themepark Catastrophe!

Just a few weeks ago, we learned about the eminent retirement of Maelstrom at EPCOT to make way for a Frozen attraction. Now, we hop over to Disney's Hollywood Studios where we are losing yet another classic attraction.

The Studio Backlot Tour

Rumors have been circulating for a while that the attraction would close to make way for a copy of Cars Land at Disneyland's California Adventure in Anaheim to make it's way here in Florida. Though the company doesn't want to reveal their plans for the area, they did say the decision was made in the name of "future enhancements." Oaken's Frozen Funland from the Frozen celebration will take up a portion of  the Backlot Tour on The Streets of America.

The Backlot Tour has been part of the park since it's opening in 1989, and was meant to take guests behind the scenes of the then working studio but has changed over the years including the removal of the residential section in 2005 to make way for the Lights Motors Action show.

Backlot's final tour will be on September 27, 2014.

Soon Catastrophe Canyon will forever be destroyed.
